Summary Description:

Syntiant Corp., a leader in the high-growth AI software and semiconductor solutions space, is looking for an experienced and talented Quality Manager.

Position will have responsibility for managing the Product Quality Engineering team to support new product introduction and factory ramp into mass production for products produced by Syntiant.  With expectation of independence, incumbent candidate defines and drives activities related to the design for quality, manufacturing bring-up, and reliability of Sensors, NDP, and Solutions.

Quality management work assignments are varied and require a data driven, results based approach.  In many instances, this position must represent the Syntiant quality department with respect to product design, manufacture, and reliability with customers and senior management at Syntiant.  Incumbent must be comfortable analyzing complex situations and then presenting results concisely, to all levels of the organization.  A strong engineering background is critical, and the ability to travel internationally is required.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a global quality organization that is a key contact for the design of new products, change management and problem prevention/resolution.
  • Ensure effective use of FMEA process with Design and manufacturing teams.
  • Propagate the use of statistical techniques in design and manufacturing.
  • Recommend and drive improvements to product designs & manufacturing processes.
  • Preparation of technical reports for customers (external and internal) relating to product changes and/or improvements, and drive resolution of issues related to these
  • Take initiative developing and leading cross functional teams to address critical product issues – with regards to both existing products and new product development.
  • Drive continuous improvement and corrective action activities to improve the quality and cost of products and services offered.
  • Assist with “change implementation” and the objective to transition the organization from a reactive to a proactive culture, to better meet internal and external customer requirements.
  • Interact with functional groups at all levels (manufacturing, sales, marketing, etc.), to address and resolve critical product and customer issues.
  • Actively seek out and utilize technical expertise from within the company and from outside sources to assist in problem solving.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience Required:

  • Successful candidate will possess Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other Science related discipline plus at least 10 years of engineering driven experience with at least 3 of those in Quality/Reliability Engineering with strong emphasis on new product introduction.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high volume manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Highly motivated; possess vision and enthusiasm
  • Excellent communications skills (oral and written) are required to effectively interact with customers and peers. 
  • Knowledge of Electronics and Electrical Components, Statistical Techniques, Design of Experiments, SPC and basic ISO9000 framework is required.  Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred but not required.
  • International travel - approx. 10%.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Syntiant, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company.
