Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervises and directs daily activities of cafeteria Food Service Associates and Cashiers.
  • Acts as cashier, grill cook or any other position in the cafeteria as needed.
  • Assists Food Service Associates during serving hours.
  • Cooks, reheats, and cools food according to proper HAACP guidelines.
  • Operates computerized POS register system.
  • Daily interaction with clients and customers.
  • Acts as a supervisor in their absence.
  • Assists with daily reconciliation of all cash drawers.
  • Runs and operates a designated station. Work to include production, stock requisitions, FIFO rotations, equipment maintenance, opening & closing procedures, and monitoring food safety guidelines (food & cooler temperatures, cross contamination, allergen awareness, etc.)
  • Completes opening and closing checklists per department requirements.
  • Directs pre-service meeting to ensure staff understands the menu items and methods of preparation.
  • Trains and coaches newly hired and current support team associates to the job responsibilities
  • Verifies that Food Service Associates and Cooks are following recipes, to ensure proper nutritional needs are provided.
  • Follows NY State Department of Health Standards for food handling and storage.
  • Ensures assigned Food Service Associates are following established cleaning procedures and schedules.
  • Complies with Albany Medical Center Business Conduct Policy
  • Complies with all HIPPA Regulations and Patient Bill of Rights as well as the Civil Rights Act, Age Discrimination and Americans with Disabilities Acts

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. - required
  • Previous cashier experience or supervisory experience - preferred
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Requires good interpersonal/customer-relations skills.
  • Able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
