Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under the direct supervision of the Cafeteria Supervisors and the Shift Leaders, Food Service Associates perform the function of preparing/serving a variety of food items to employees and guests to ensure an efficient cafeteria operation.
  • Responsibilities may include serving salads, vegetables, meats, breads; filling soups and sauces; portioning desserts and filling baskets with beverage cups and salad containers, etc.
  • Clean and sanitize counters, steam tables, and other equipment as well as tables in dining area during and after meal periods. Opens/closes stations according to departmental procedures.
  • Brew coffee and tea, stock merchandise and condiment stations.
  • Follow and adhere to food safety guidelines set forth by Aramark and the NYS Department of Health
  • Complies with Albany Medical Center Business Conduct Policy
  • Complies with all HIPPA Regulations and Patient Bill of Rights as well as the Civil Rights Act, Age Discrimination and Americans with Disabilities Acts


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. - preferred
  • less than 1 year Food Service/Customer Service - preferred
  • Willing and able to work any designated area in Employee Food Service
  • Demonstrates approved sanitation and food handling procedures.
  • Good communication and customer relation skills
  • Maintain proper temperatures for both hot and cold foods.
  • Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
