Our movers work in private homes, apartments, and senior living communities throughout the Triangle region, including Chapel Hill, Durham, Cary, Raleigh, Apex, Wake Forest, Morrisville, Holly Springs, Hillsborough, and surrounding North Carolina areas. About the Role
The Downsizers is hiring for an Experienced Mover to join our growing team. This role is designed for movers who already understand professional moving standards and take pride in safe handling, efficiency, and respectful client interaction. Our projects primarily support seniors and families during major life transitions, where experience and professionalism are essential.

Role Purpose (Why This Role Exists)
The Mover supports the safe, efficient, and respectful transport of client belongings during moves, estate liquidations, and downsizing projects. This role exists to ensure items are prepared, loaded, transported, unloaded, and placed with care while providing a calm, professional, and service-oriented experience for clients during often stressful transitions.
Working as part of a moving team, the Mover follows project instructions, safety standards, and company procedures while representing The Downsizers’ values and commitment to exceptional client care.
This role is also responsible for clearly communicating job completion through same-day project feed updates, including photos, notes, and any required contracts or documentation, to ensure accurate records and smooth follow-through.
Why This Role Is Different
Most of our projects are shuttle-style moves, involving the careful transport and delivery of items to family members, consignment partners, auction destinations, or new locations within senior living communities. Moves often take place in phases and require attention to detail, organization, and clear communication rather than high-speed bulk hauling.
