Role: Valve Technician

Location:  Pasadena, TX

Pay Rate: $25/hr - $28/hr on W2(inclusive all)

Term: 12-month

Shifts:

  • 1st Shift: 7am to 3pm Monday – Friday
  • OT and weekends

Job description

As a Safety Valve Assembler, you will assemble complex components per assembly drawings / bill of material. Performs functional testing on assemblies. Tests assemblies per customer and/or division criteria. Operates test equipment in compliance with engineering standards. Applies settings, calibrates and maintains assembly tools. Performs torquing of various components. Distributes quality notifications (qn's).

  • Repairing safety relief valves to National Board VR Code
  • Testing safety valves with air, water, & steam
  • Reading and interpret manufacturers drawings and spring charts
  • Understanding of Steam boiler operating and testing
  • Applying measurement & math skills to verify critical dimensions
  • Performing machine and hand lapping of nozzles and discs
  • Performing valve write-up
  • Understanding the Pressure and leak test valves to National Board, API, and ASME standards

work environment:

  • very fast paced and noisy, long-Standing Hours
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 1+ years related experience
  • 1+ Years experience with the Assembly of Safety Valves is preferred
  • Experience working with Dial Calipers
  • Experience working with Micrometers
  • Experience working with Consolidated products a plus)

Nice to have:

  • Reading and interpretation of assembly manuals
  • Good communicator
  • Attention detail
  • SAP familiarity(ERP systems)
