Job Description

Deliver advanced critical care in a fast-paced emergency and transport environment where clinical judgment, rapid decision-making, and teamwork directly impact patient outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to care for critically ill and injured patients while working alongside experienced healthcare professionals in a highly collaborative setting.

As a Critical Care Paramedic, you’ll provide advanced life support and specialty-level pre-hospital care for diverse patient populations requiring urgent and complex medical intervention. This position supports emergency response operations, inter-facility transport, and inpatient clinical collaboration while utilizing advanced monitoring, airway, and resuscitation skills.

Position Overview

The Critical Care Paramedic provides high-acuity emergency medical care for patients experiencing severe illness or trauma in both field and clinical settings. This role requires strong clinical assessment skills, advanced airway management experience, and the ability to manage rapidly changing patient conditions under pressure.

Working closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams, the paramedic delivers critical interventions, supports emergency response readiness, and contributes to high-quality patient care across emergency, inpatient, and transport environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced life support and critical care during emergency response activities and inter-facility patient transport
  • Assess, triage, stabilize, and manage critically ill or injured patients using advanced clinical judgment and rapid decision-making skills
  • Perform advanced airway management, ventilatory support, cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic assessment, and critical care interventions
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, critical care infusions, and advanced resuscitative treatments in accordance with established protocols
  • Operate and interpret advanced medical equipment including cardiac monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and 12-lead ECG systems
  • Manage complex medical emergencies including respiratory distress, severe trauma, cardiac arrest, chest injuries, and high-risk patient presentations
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and EMS personnel while supporting documentation, patient assessment, inventory management, and clinical readiness
  • Participate in ongoing training, compliance education, skills assessments, and cross-functional clinical support within emergency and inpatient care areas

Qualifications

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Current unrestricted U.S. state Paramedic license with National Registry EMT-P certification or equivalent unrestricted licensure required
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and advanced trauma training such as PHTLS, ITLS, or TCCC
  • Current Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C) and/or Flight Paramedic (FP-C) certification required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-acuity emergency situations and deliver advanced critical care in fast-paced clinical environments
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Certification from an accredited Paramedic training program required
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 25 pounds
  • U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident Card required with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government MRPT security clearance and maintain a valid U.S. passport throughout assignment duration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in critical care transport, emergency medicine, or high-acuity pre-hospital care settings
  • Experience supporting military or government healthcare operations preferred
  • Strong interdisciplinary communication and leadership skills in emergency response environments
  • Prior experience working in remote or international healthcare settings preferred
