Otterbein has an employment opportunity for a Part-Time Floor Care Specialist - (8a-4p) 24 hours a week, and no weekends.  The Custodian/Floor Care Specialist provide a clean, safe environment for residents, guests and employees.  Under the direction and supervision of the housekeeping/laundry liaison or environmental services mentor, completes scheduled/assigned project tasks such as floor stripping/refinishing, carpet extraction, wall washing, etc.  Performs general custodial duties. 

• Able to work independently and display good sound judgement when making independent decisions
• Keeps work area clean and free of hazardous conditions, ensures equipment, tools and supplies are properly stored before leaving areas
• Demonstrates technical knowledge of products (project specific chemicals) and proper use and mixing
• Demonstrates proper operation of equipment – Auto Scrubber and Burnisher
• Performs general cleaning procedures of rooms, stairwells, windows, elevators, etc.
• Demonstrates technical knowledge and operation of Spill/Spot cleaning, Carpet Extractors and upright/walk behind vacuums
• Maintains stock room, breaks down boxes and assists with moves
• Proper cleaning and storage of mops, buckets, wringers, etc.
• Make rounds of interior building to ensure office security at the end of shift

Qualifications 

• Education:  High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience:  one year experience in floor care preferred; must possess personal skills, traits and desire to care for ill, disabled and elderly residents and to work with families, staff and support agencies to provide cooperative quality care
