In April 2023, TRATON embarked on an ambitious journey to integrate independent brand Research & Development (R&D) Organizations in Scania, MAN, International, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus into a single global TRATON R&D organization.

By integrating the capabilities and resources of our brands, we will accelerate the introduction of new technologies and solutions to deliver the most competitive products and solutions to our customers.

 

We currently have a great opportunity for a Program Manager – Business Transformation on our TRATON USA’s R&D Team.

This role is crucial for driving our key strategic initiatives for the TRATON R&D Management system implementation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in either leadership, project management, or other extensive experience from R&D at one of the TRATON brands. You may be a manager wanting to take a break from line management for a few years to take on this strategic challenge or an experienced generalist or specialist within one of the TRATON brands with a strong track record and the ability to see the big picture. The initial responsibility will be to support ISO 9001 certification process in March 2026.

Domain Management System & Support is working strategically in close collaboration with the R&D Management team to define the how the new TRATON Group R&D operates, both structurally (such as decision meetings, mandates, follow-up and information availability) and culturally (such as culture, principles and expectations).

This role will be onsite in Lisle, IL.

Responsibilities

• Drive the planning, execution, and monitoring of key transformation programs related to the TRATON R&D Management System, ensuring alignment with TRATON Group’s strategic objectives.
• Take ownership of activities related to the successful ISO 9001 certification by March 2026 for the US site, including process documentation, gap analysis, audit readiness, and stakeholder alignment.
• Support the adoption of performance standards aligned with Traton R&D strategy.
• Act as the bridge between Domain Management System & Traton US R&D Management, and other key stakeholders.
• Work with key stakeholders to establish KPIs, track progress, and report via a robust quality management system

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• At least 5 years of project/program management experience

OR

• Master’s degree

• At least 3 years of project/program management experience

OR

• At least 7 years of project/program management experience

Additional Requirements

• Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. • The ability to see past the immediate details and grasp the bigger picture
• An ability to succeed in situations that are fast-changing and fast-paced
• The attitude of finding solutions rather than listing problems
• Languages: English is a must / German, Swedish, Portuguese and other languages a plus
• Extensive experience working with leadership, project management or R&D within one of the TRATON brands, preferably International
