The Sr. Specialist, EHS, is a highly visible role with responsibility for providing support, tactical execution, and advice in the areas of safety, health, the environment, and sustainability. This role has primary responsibility for implementation and maintenance of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs that manage, mitigate, and where possible, eliminate EHS risks to employees, contractors, facilities and communities in which the company operates.

Business:

  • In collaboration with EHS leadership, helps drive robust EHS plans to ensure conformance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Supports EHS goals, monitors performance and reports on progress.
  • Assists in the development of the annual EHS budget; actively manages and monitors performance to EHS budget.

Technical:

  • Serves as a technical EHS resource for general staff.
  • Supports implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Helps facilitate training and inspection programs to ensure compliance with applicable occupational EHS standards.
  • Monitors performance of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs.
  • Conducts on-going data and risk analyses to trend and identify known and/or emerging EHS risks and assist with the development of mitigation strategies.
  • Executes prescribed tactical initiatives to eliminate hazards and reduce or eliminate risks.
  • Conducts continuous assessments of EHS hazards and risks and provides assistance where specific technical expertise is required to meet applicable regulations, enterprise policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Leads and/or actively participate in the investigations of all EHS incidents and ensures timely and complete implementation of corrective actions.
  • Supports the facilitation of the EHS training program; delivers appropriate EHS training.
  • Leads implementation of sustainability initiatives to achieve site sustainability goals.

Culture Management & Employee Development:

  • Effectively builds and maintains collaborative relations with peers and internal customers.
  • Coaches site employees in EHS culture.
  • Acts as an effective change agent; promotes excellence and challenges traditional thinking, boundaries, and modes of operation.

III. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Environmental Sciences, Occupational Health, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or Industrial Hygiene).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in EHS in manufacturing operations, pharmaceutical industries preferred.
  • Strong understanding of successful implementation of EHS Management Systems.
  • Strong, substantive knowledge of applicable EHS regulations.
  • Strong commitment to business ethics and integrity.
  • Develops and maintains good relationships, gains the confidence of others, and works effectively in a multidisciplinary matrix environment.
  • Strategic thinker with creative and excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Self-starter, who can act independently and learn quickly within a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to critically interpret and use data to manage risk.
  • Professional Certifications such as CSP, CIH, etc. preferred.

This role is onsite everyday

Compensation Range:

$91,719.00 - $137,579.00
