Join a world-class academic healthcare system as the IMH The Behavioral Health Screening Specialist at Ingalls in Harvey, Illinois.

 

The BH Screening Specialist will be responsible for conducting weekly behavioral health trainings and behavioral health screenings with identified community partners.  The BH Screening Specialist will be a strong presence and resource within the community. The BH Screening Specialist will engage with schools, healthcare providers, clients and families to ensure that individuals are connected to appropriate behavioral health services, both at UC Ingalls and in the community.  The BH Screening Specialist will not only connect patients to appropriate behavioral health services, but will also connect patients with other hospital and clinic-based services, such as primary care, cancer screenings and maternal fetal medicine follow up and care to support comprehensive health and wellness.

  • Data Collection and TrackingCultivate partnerships with community organizations, including educational institutions, healthcare facilities, local businesses and faith-based organizations, to increase awareness and support
  • Function as a point of contact for community members and organizations seeking education on mental health treatment, and actual mental health screenings
  • Organize and conduct mental health screening sessions
  • Record and report out to program manager on outreach and screening activities, including attendance at community events, communication and outreach efforts not in-person, completed mental health screenings, and outcomes related to connecting community members with mental health services
  • Conduct follow up calls and screenings to patients referred to the behavioral health programs
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the program manager

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health or Related Field. 
  • Preferred experience of working in behavioral health or community engagement for 6 months.
