JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of the Utility Driver is to operate various vehicles to transport goods, materials, or people, often filling in for other drivers or performing a variety of tasks based on need.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Driving and Delivery:
· Picking up and delivering packages, equipment, or shipments using vehicles like box trucks, vans, or semi-trucks.
· Flexible Assignments: Covering routes based on operational needs.
· Vehicle Operation: Driving a variety of fleet vehicles, which may include operating specialized equipment like forklifts.
· Other Duties: Performing tasks like loading and unloading cargo, assisting with special projects and performing basic vehicle maintenance.
· Occasionally perform hydrostatic test or 6-year internal inspections on fire extinguishers as needed or directed.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training, Certifications:
HS Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements:
· 1 year Fire Life Safety Industry experience, specifically within the Shop area, preferred.
· 1 year of professional computer skills, preferred.
· Inventory control experience, preferred.
· Forklift certification, license, or experience (as required), required.
· Must be able to comply with SFP’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.
· Efficient time management skills developed organizational skills and ability to prioritize initiatives and business goals.
· Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
· Collaborator and ability to work with all levels of employees.
· Strong diligence and accuracy
Communication Skills:
· Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers.
Systems and Software Skills:
· Familiarity with analytical use of business intelligence systems, Sage 300 CRE, or similar, preferred
· Experience with SalesForce preferred.
Other Qualifications:
· Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
· Must be able to comply with SFP’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.
· Must be able to travel 90% of the time, locally.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, ascend and descend step stools, ladders and stairs, kneel, lift <50lbs, reach above and below shoulders, stand and walk for extended periods of time. Employee is required to see in color, close and far distances, peripheral, depth, and adjust focus. Employee will occasional be required to balance, crouch, drive, kneel, lift >50lbs, sit, stoop, twist, and work at heights.
Work Environment:
Employees will regularly be required to work outside, and be exposed to hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards and noise. Employee will occasionally be required to work indoors in an office setting, work alone and with others. Employee must consistently wear all appropriate personal protective equipment, as required by company safety policies while visiting locations.
$19 - $21 per-hour-wage
