Responsibilities

  • A Polysomnographic Technologist - works under the general supervision of the clinical director (M.D., D.O., or PhD) or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.
  • This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education.
  • A Polysomnographic Technologist may provide supervision of other staff.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • 2 years of job-related experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Registered RPSGT – BRPT Sleep Tech. Should the incumbent allow his/her RPSGT license to lapse, he/she must regain RPSGT status in good standing within 6 months of lapse date. Failure to obtain registration will lead to termination. 
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Must be proficient with CPAP and BiPap machines.
    • Must be capable of properly fitting patients for masks.
  • Knowledgeable of Oxygen safety.
  • Must be knowledgeable of current testing guidelines.
