Responsibilities

  • The in-house traveler agrees to commit up to a 12 consecutive week assignment, scheduled at least 36 hours per week or 72 hours per pay period. 
  • The in-house traveler agrees to accept unit, location, and shift assignments by Hillcrest Hospital South and understands that the shift and unit assignment may change during the assignment period. 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of sterile technique, sterilization procedures, principles of surgical procedures, anatomy, and physiology, and use and care of surgical instruments and equipment. 
  • Assist the surgical team in accomplishing surgical care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
  • Understand the surgery schedule workflow and is available to meet the needs for room turnovers, patient transport, and cleaning.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Current valid and unrestricted Certified Surgical Tech certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). 
  • Minimum of one year of recent (within the last 2 years) hospital experience in the selected area. 
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
