Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Surgery Dept at Dignity Health Chandler Regional Medical Center is a dynamic environment where you can pursue a highly challenging and rewarding career. Our new tower has provided additional surgery suites with the latest technology, providing patients with a wide range of surgical/procedural experience. Level One Trauma Center 24/7 Operational hours 13 Surgical Suites 1 Cysto Suite 1:1 Nurse Ratio Multi-Specialty Trauma Neuro Robotics Orthopedics General GYN Urology Plastics and Reconstruction. State of the Art equipment In-house Anesthesia Anesthesia Techs and Video Techs Self-Scheduling. As our Charge RN you will provide oversight of the activities on a nursing unit during a specific shift including serving as a resource to staff, directing patient flow, assuring appropriate utilization of resources, and providing oversight for the provision of quality care in a manner satisfying to patients. Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives. To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates patient flow on the unit to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care.
  • Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education. 
  • Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department.
  • Evaluates care given by staff.  
  • Coaches to improve care.

Job Requirements

Minimum:

  • ADN, Diploma, or foreign equivalent
  • Current AZ State RN license in good standing 
  • Current American Heart Association BLS healthcare provider card 
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS
  • American Heart Association PALS obtained within six months of hire 

Preferred:

  • Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or charge nurse experience
  • BSN
