Get to Know Your Team:  

  • Hillcrest Hospital South is a 180 bed acute care hospital with a history of providing state-of-the-art technology in a friendly, community setting that is easy to navigate. With more than 1000 employees and 700 physicians, we provide a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services for all ages including emergency, intensive care, stroke, cardiology, maternity, orthopedics and surgery. 

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, runs and logs routine ECG and rhythm strips.

  • Prepares and administers oxygen therapy utilizing nasal cannulas, masks, venturi marks, non-rebreathers, simple oxygen masks and oxygen hoods, heated high flow nasal cannula’s.

  • Performs and teaches Incentive Spirometry.

  • Interprets and reports vital signs and pulse oximetry as indicated.

  • Performs postural drainage and percussion.

  • Ventilator/Bipaps—after School check offs are completed

  • Osculates and identifies various breath sounds.

  • After school check offs are completed---Performs allens test and arterial blood gases

  • Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired regarding personal, financial, medical or employment of patients, families, and employees of Hillcrest South.

  • Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and Hillcrest South. Must report hazards and initiate appropriate action. Must participate in safety instructional programs.

Qualifications

Job Requirements: 

  • Currently enrolled or completed Respiratory Associated degree program

  • Must possess a current Oklahoma RCP license

  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements: 

  • ACLS, PALS, and NRP preferred

  • Desirable characteristics include two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment.
