Overview

The Supply Chain & Material’s organization is looking for a Supervisor of Process Engineering to lead a focused team whose mission is to collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics, and Quality leaders to accelerate improvement initiatives, enhance operational performance, and embed a culture of excellence cross the organization.

 

The ideal candidate is a change leader who is passionate about helping people and teams work better together. Focused on strengthening processes, enhancing collaboration, and driving meaningful, lasting change across the organization.  

 

The Supervisor will be responsible to:

 

Provide leadership for a team of direct reports

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of ~6-8 process engineers
  • Develop professional growth opportunities and challenges for direct reports
  • Lead by example through demonstrating Electric Boat’s Core Values and holding leadership, peers, and direct reports accountable as well

 

Provide direct support to multiple Vice Presidents and Directors to achieve their business goals and engage their workforce to improve

  • Partner with leaders to align improvement efforts with business priorities and needs
  • Build a connected organization where collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement drive operational excellence and sustainable growth.
  • Inspire a culture of continuous improvement that empowers people to deliver smarter, faster, and better outcomes everyday

 

Report out on Key Deliverables

  • Process Documentation & Analysis
  • Performance & Metrics Deliverables
  • Improvement Initiatives & Solutions​
  • Governance & Sustainability Tools

 

Complete other required supervision activities including administration of AT&A, performance reviews, department staffing planning, onboarding and training, etc.

 

Skills

 

  • Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Black Belt /MBB).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Visio, Power BI, and Minitab).
  • Excellent problem solving, project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive change in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, patience and active listening, and influencing/motivating and directing others
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior leadership

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years of experience in Electric Boat Process Improvement

 

Preferred:

  • Supply Chain, Quality, and/or Engineering experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience leading people or project teams
