Responsibilities

The monitor tech shall be responsible for assisting in the care of patients by continual observation of any patient on a cardiac monitor, under the direction of an RN or LPN.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:  

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must exhibit proficiency in patient care and oral communication skills. 

• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

• Must maintain any other requirements for each specific department.
• Must complete required departmental competencies and maintain through annual review.

Preferred Job Requirements:  

• One year of experience as a monitor tech.
