Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • Apply knowledge of engineering and physical science principles, materials, and tools in a collaborative environment to develop, integrate, document and evaluate flight vehicle structure designs for performance, functional adequacy, cost effectiveness, manufacturability, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Areas of expertise may include primary and secondary structure design, payloads design, and lofting.
  • The successful candidate will lead the development of aircraft structure concepts, analysis, and verification of structure design and requirements compliance, performance, cost, and reliability.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or other related course of study from an ABET accredited program
  • Requires educational credentials meeting the Spirit classification standards for engineers and typically 9 to 13 years of experience in a design engineering classification / position
  • Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment
  • Working knowledge of aerospace industry practices and standards
  • Advanced thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Candidate must be a resident of or willing to relocate to the Wichita, KS area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CATIA or similar software/programs
  • Experience with test fixture design
  • Experience in a dynamic high paced environment, flexibility and multitasking
  • Experience in a lab or test house setting
  • Energetic and willingness to learn
  • Determination and grit to overcome complex challenges
  • Great communication skills
