Job Summary and Responsibilities

The RN – Clinical Surgery Coordinator assists in the development of the orthopedic surgical service by planning and evaluating instrument, supply and equipment needs for orthopedic procedures. The Resource Coordinator also functions as a Surgical First Assistant to provide quality patient care in the operating room.

Essential FunctionProvides skilled assistance to the Surgeon.Discusses procedures with Surgeons to be certain the appropriate equipment is made availableAssists with individual operating room set up.Assists with positioning, prepping and draping the patient.Assure acquisition of specialty and/or consignment instrumentation, supplies, and equipment prior to scheduled procedures.Establishes work schedules and assignments for the Orthopedic Surgical Assistants.Provides direction in clinical practice, acts as a preceptor to new staff, provides inservice for the staff.

Job Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Preferred- Bachelors Of Nursing

Registered Nurse: TN (RN:TN) Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
