JOB SUMMARY

This job supports the growth of the Organization's sales goals through the development of customer-focused, strategically-positioned sales messaging, proposal messaging and/or creative design materials/presentations.  The incumbent coordinates and communicates effectively with all levels of the Organization and Senior Management for the collection, analysis and documentation of information and creative concepts related to client communications (executive summaries, presentations, placemats, etc,) by consulting with Sales, performing strategic research, market analysis, and creative resources for key industry stakeholders (external clients, consultants, Partner Plans).  

This role is a hybrid based role that can be based in Buffalo NY or Pittsburgh, PA. 3 days a week onsite - T, W, Th.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • prioritizes and manages multiple projects simultaneously and independently and provides expert guidance for the creation, development and delivery of value proposition sales collateral (including RFPs, executive summaries, presentations, placemats, etc).  
  • Communicates effectively (verbal and written) with all levels of the organization to resolve problems, prioritize, multi-task and build and maintain strong relationships throughout the organization.
  • Creates and tailors product information and positioning to customize various sales strategies (via written and visual communication materials) with targeted, innovative solutions according to project timelines. Provides centralized quality review of messaging and visual information library to ensure accuracy, consistency, appropriate positioning and competitive differentiation.
  • Business and technical subject matter expert to create, develop, write and manage information/graphical resources and automation tools to be used for sales staff to respond to customer needs in a customized solution-sales driven market.  (Understands product, solution and company value messages and repurpose into sales-ready content.).  Interpret and understand needs of customer to create a compelling, well-articulated value proposition that aligns Highmark’s products/services with the customers’ strategy.
  • Responsible for managing and coordinating complex projects or ad hoc initiatives that can influence the division’s financial profitability and/or its reputation or relationship with internal or external customers.  Coordinate and implement special projects of various sizes, initiated by internal and external contacts
  • Applies knowledge of graphic standards, brand requirements to materials, as appropriate, adhering to company policies and procedures.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelors degree in Writing, Marketing, Journalism or related field

Substitution

  • 6 years of relevant Sales Messaging and/or Request for Proposal management experience in lieu of Bachelor degree

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 2-5 years of experience in business writing, proposal development, presentation development, communications, marketing, sales support/solution selling, or persuasive writing
  • 1-3 years of Project Management experience

  • 2 years of experience in healthcare industry

  • Knowledge of healthcare landscape, including delivery and financing

  • Highly organized and experienced to work on multiple projects simultaneously  

  • Ability to work in deadline-driven environment

  • Strong knowledge of Word, Adobe, PowerPoint, InDesign
