The HR Intern will support the People Team in executing various HR functions and initiatives, specifically NYC Fair Work Week Audits. This role provides hands-on experience in a professional setting, offering exposure to employee engagement, HR operations, and compliance. The intern will assist in day-to-day HR activities and contribute to projects that enhance the employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Assists Compliance Coordinator in audits for NYC Fair Work Week
- Assist in gathering missing audit information for compliance and updates to General Managers and Area Directors
- Assist in generating and distributing daily approval sheets, auditing schedules, tracking premium pay, and recording approvals.
- Submitting all required premium payments to Payroll if needed.
- Supports employee relations; receives and investigates staff complaints with neutrality, impartiality, and confidentiality, gathering relevant information and documentation, conducting interviews, reviewing video, producing reports, and providing updates as necessary
- Input and update cases in EthicsPoint Incident Management system.
- Maintain HR drive case files ensuring all findings and case documents are organized and legal ready.
- Ensure write ups, termination documents, Note to Files are uploaded in employee’s UKG employee documents.
- Assist with writing discipline documentation and processes to ensure timely, consistent, and
- appropriate intervention.
- Provide administrative support for HR projects and daily operations.
- Help ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws.
- Assist with planning and execution of cultural or employee recognition events.
- Performs special projects or other duties as assigned by HR leadership.
Qualifications

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- Previous internship or administrative experience is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Familiarity with HRIS systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Bi-Lingual is a plus
- Must possess valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Employment eligibility to work in the United States required
- Restaurant experience preferred
