Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician:

 

  • Assists the pharmacist in his/her professional responsibilities in providing pharmacy services.
  • Works under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, participates in the preparation, dispensing, distribution and return of patient specific medications including intravenous admixtures, supplies and maintains automated technology equipment, packages unit of use dosages, maintains and transports pharmaceuticals, and performs tasks associated with regulatory compliance.
  • Documents activities as indicated and performs other duties as required.

 

Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma - OR - GED - OR - Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education

Certification and Licensure

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required upon hire or within the first 6 months of employment
