The Accountant is responsible for all general accounting for a specific corporation or group of corporations. Responsibilities include general ledger account analysis, preparation of financial statements, budgets, audit work papers, and other accounting duties assigned. Responsible for management and internal controls on auxiliary financial information systems such as accounts receivable, cash receipts, disbursements and internal management reports. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 3 years progressive and dynamic experience in general ledger accounting required.
MBA and/or CPA preferred.
Healthcare and/or public accounting experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of GAAP is required.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel at an intermediate level, as well as process efficiency and detail oriented.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing as well as maintain positive customer service.
Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time.
The job produces some physical demands. Typical of jobs that include regular walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, and some lifting of light weight objects.
• Complete monthly financial statements within applicable close timelines.
• Develop budgets within applicable deadlines.
• Complete account reconciliations within reconciliation policy.
• Prepare applicable audit workpapers within audit deadlines.
• Competent in all applicable Finance systems.
• Identify and implement process efficiencies.
