We are looking for a dynamic and creative individual to join our team as a Decorating Studio Host at our award-winning tourist destination, World of Wedgwood.

World of Wedgwood is the home of Stoke-on-Trent’s most prestigious ceramics brand, Wedgwood, based in Barlaston (just 5 minutes from Trentham).

Decorating Studio Host

Reporting to the Creative Studio Manager, you will welcome and engage guests, encouraging their participation in our creative decorating activities, ensuring they get the most from their visit and enjoy an extraordinary and memorable pottery painting experience in our Decorating Studio.

The Decorating Studio is part of the Creative Studios at World of Wedgwood, where we deliver pottery painting, wheel throwing experiences, and creative workshops.

In addition, you will support the smooth running of the studio by:

  • Welcoming guests and supporting them throughout their visit

  • Processing transactions and operating the till

  • Taking drinks orders and collecting them from the Tea Room for guests

  • Supporting the cleaning and upkeep of the studio environment

  • Replenishing and organising creative materials and supplies

  • Using the booking system to manage bookings, guest correspondence and enquiries, and accepting bookings where possible

  • Supporting the recording and tracking of pottery painting items

  • Supporting the wider Creative Studio team to deliver an excellent guest experience

About You
Our ideal candidate will:

  • Have an artistic and creative flair

  • Be confident delivering excellent guest service and engaging with all guests

  • Be friendly, approachable, and positive with a ‘can-do’ attitude

  • Communicate effectively and work well as part of a team

  • Have strong time management and organisational skills


Hours of Work

19 hours over 4 days per week – typically a Saturday and three weekday afternoons – with flexibility to increase hours during peak school holiday periods. Weekend hours are 9:30–17:00 and weekday hours are currently 13:00–17:00.

Please note this role involves interaction with children, young people, and vulnerable adults. Successful applicants will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) application.
