FINE 230: Sculpture & Expanded Media.

An introduction to the fundamental tools, materials, techniques, concepts, and safety procedures of sculpture and related media. Through hands-on exploration of materials, students will develop skills in both traditional and contemporary sculptural methods. We will cover a variety of processes while learning essential safety protocols for working in a studio environment. Historical and contemporary sculptural practices will be examined through lectures and demonstrations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree that demonstrates expertise appropriate for teaching a course/s listed in this announcement OR a 4-year professional degree (BFA) in art or design and equivalent expertise, training and experience, with an appropriate record of professional creative achievement.
  • Professional portfolio demonstrating skills and experience in the curricular area.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MFA degree or its equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
  • College level teaching experience.
  • Significant professional creative practice.
