Job Purpose: The Studio Tech Intern supports the studio’s technical and creative operations by assisting with the maintenance, setup, and troubleshooting of composer workstations and systems. This internship offers hands-on experience in a professional film and television scoring environment, helping interns develop practical skills in computer hardware, digital audio workstations (DAWs), and studio technology.

What You’ll Do: (job responsibilities)

  • Assist with diagnosing and repairing DAW session issues (Cubase, Logic, Pro Tools)

  • Help troubleshoot plugin and virtual instrument issues (Kontakt, Spitfire, SINE Player, EastWest, etc.)

  • Maintain and organize sample libraries and virtual instruments

  • Set up and test new hardware (audio interfaces, MIDI controllers, synths, control surfaces)

  • Assist with drive imaging and configuration for new composer workstations

  • Identify and document system performance issues (disk overloads, CPU spikes, RAM bottlenecks, etc.)

  • Trace and label signal flow between hardware and software components as needed

  • Contribute to long-term system improvements and updates

  • Help manage software, plugin, and OS updates and compatibility checks

The anticipated base hourly for this position is $18. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.  The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
