As part of Toppan’s commitment to world-class manufacturing, the GPS (Global Performance System) Coordinator is a key driver of operational excellence, cultural transformation, and lean manufacturing deployment. This role leads Division-wide initiatives to implement GPS pillars and tools across 7 sites—driving safety, productivity, quality, and cost improvements. The Coordinator will be a floor-focused change agent, supporting pillar teams, training associates, and ensuring execution of best practices across all departments.
What you’ll be doing:
- Deploy and sustain all GPS pillars (Safety, Quality, Maintenance, Productivity, Cost, People Development) across departments.
- Train, coach, and mentor employees at all levels on GPS tools and methodologies, including 5S, DTM, DMAIC, and problem-solving techniques.
- Act as the liaison between plant leadership and corporate/divisional practitioners to align priorities and drive accountability.
- Support cross-functional teams in setting and achieving performance goals using KPIs and visual management systems.
- Maintain and audit model machine boards, team communication boards, and daily tracking metrics for clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
- Facilitate and participate in Kaizen events, rapid improvement events, and other Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
- Coach pillar team leaders on goal setting, standardized work, and gap analysis to drive progress across all areas.
- Ensure proper calculation and communication of losses (OEE, scrap, downtime) and provide root cause insight and improvement paths.
- Support internal reviews and audits; prepare materials and performance reporting as requested by corporate teams.
- Walk the floor with plant leaders weekly to review visual controls, OPLs, 5S compliance, and reinforce best practices.
- Additional Responsibilities as Assigned.
This is an onsite position located out of our Huntley, IL Facility
We’d love to hear from you if:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Operations, or Manufacturing preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, with exposure to Lean or CI systems (GPS, GPS, TPM, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; able to develop training materials and performance dashboards.
- Hands-on experience leading or supporting lean manufacturing, pillar teams, or OEE-based initiatives.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Strong communication and coaching skills across multiple levels of the organization.
- Comfortable spending time on the production floor and working all shifts as needed.
- High integrity, organizational discipline, and commitment to measurable results.
