Position: Maintenance Mechanic I

Hiring Manager: Jose Ruiz / Supervisor: John Pasquale

Hours: 2nd Shift 3 AM – 11 PM  

Location: F135 – Huntley, IL

Rate: $27.77 – 35.04 per hour depending on Experience.

 

Summary:

With general supervision, maintains and repairs plant equipment, buildings, and grounds.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Performs necessary repairs to all production and maintenance equipment

2. Picks up supplies as needed from local vendors using company vehicle

3. Provides and ensures preventive maintenance on production equipment and necessary building equipment

4. Maintains and repairs basic electrical, construction, and plumbing needs

5. Performs routine maintenance on thermoforming machines

6. Completes required job tickets in IQMS, which include:

1) opening PM work orders,

2) closing PM work orders with applicable project notes

3) adding applicable hours and 4) adding maintenance spare parts used

7. Maintains a clean and safe organized work area

8. Other duties as assigned

 

Physical and Visual Activities/Demands:

1. Standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, reading, writing and talking

2. Carrying and/or Lifting up to 50 pounds

3. Pushing up to 100 pounds

4. Pulling up to 100 pounds

 

Job Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Basic knowledge of and aptitude for mechanical principles

2. Basic knowledge of and aptitude for electrical principles including 480 voltage

3. Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings

4. Good working knowledge shop math

5. Good working knowledge of measuring instruments

6. Ability to continuously lift, reach, stand, and walk throughout the day

7. Good written and verbal communication skills

8. Good manual dexterity and agility

9. Good computer skills

10. Basic welding skills

11. Other duties as assigned

 

Experience:

1. High school Diploma or equivalent

2. Two to Five Years Maintenance experience

3. Two years Plastics and/or Thermoforming experience preferred

4. Certifications preferred in machine repair, basic automated electronic systems, and chemical spills

5. Forklift certification

6. Lock Out / Tag Out certification

7. NFPA electrical training certification

8. Welding skills

 

Machines, Tools, and Equipment

1. Thermoformers and hand held tools

2. Basic shop equipment Snow blower equipment Forklifts

3. Pneumatics / Hydraulics / Electrical

4. Lathe, milling, grinding, and welding apparatuses

 

Environmental Demands:

Exposure to noise, vibration, heat, cold, chemical, greases, and lubricants.

 

Skill Levels

Level I:

1. Keeps accurate inventory of spare parts &/or supplies

2. Safely & properly uses all shop hand tools, equipment and forklifts

3. Responsible for Preventive Maintenance (PM) on production equipment

4. Works well independently

5. Responsible for time and productivity

6. Practices good safety practices and wears proper PPE

7. In IQMS, able to charge hours and spare parts to PM work orders
