Position: Quality Technician – Experience Preferred
Location: Franklin, Ohio

Rate:
• $26.52/hr, Level I
• $27.86/hr, Level II
• $29.86/hr, Level III (this level requires Toppan, Franklin quality experience)

Schedule: Must be willing to work either 2nd shift (3pm – 11pm) or 3rd shift (11pm – 7am). Candidate must also be willing to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.

While reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for problem solving to ensure the quality expectations of every customer, both internal and external. Measuring critical product/process variables, recording or reporting using appropriate tools, and utilizing information to continuously improve.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Collecting and analyzing quality-related data from production or service functions and reporting this data. (Example: measurement of critical dimensions, performing seals, COF, gas chromatogram)

  • Supporting functions of the laboratory, along with supporting production and running of product. (Example: filing production trace documents)

  • Performing auxiliary production support tasks (Example: color standards) that will aid in the running of quality material and help prevent simple failures.

  • Following testing and standards that will increase the quality of the product being produced and increase consistency in test methods and floor procedures.

  • Participating in and maintaining presence in the Continuous Improvement movement at the facility.

  • Actively participating on the Quality team, as well as with various plant and staff groups as they report on quality metrics and initiatives.

  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.

  • Performing all duties as designated by supervisor/manager.

  • Performing all duties in support of Toppan’s quality and safety policies.

  • Supporting other departments as needed.

  • You have recent, relevant work experience in the Quality field or a Quality department, preferably in a manufacturing environment
    OR

  • You have a strong desire/interest in Quality and are willing to be trained – must meet all other qualifications listed below.

  • Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality focused is a must.

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • You are capable of working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • You have a high degree of versatility, independence, and initiative, and the ability to work effectively across the organization.

  • You have general knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • You can analyze data and recognize trends.

  • You are proficient in using measuring tools such as a ruler, calipers, and other testing equipment.

  • You can effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • You have a high school diploma.

  • You can read and understand manufacturing instructions.

  • You are able to stand for long periods of time.

  • You can perform all physical requirements of the job, including bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), stretching, stooping, reaching, and working in warm conditions when necessary.
