Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM 

Rate: $26.58

Location: F137 Device – 11287 Kiley Road, Huntley, IL

  

Summary:

With general supervision, sets-up the proper tooling needed in the thermoforming machines and operates the machines per job specifications.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sets up thermoforming machines for operation per job specifications. Mounts dies and molds and loads rolls of raw materials into the machine.
  • Engages machine to produce thermoformed parts and maintains continuous operation. Performs troubleshooting and quality control checks.
  • Performs routine maintenance on thermoforming machines.
  • Completes required job tickets.
  • Works with Packer/Inspectors to resolve any quality issues as needed.
  • Directs Packers/Inspectors to work in other areas when machine is down for troubleshooting or set up.
  • Maintains a safe, clean and organized work area.
  • Performs other work duties or functions as assigned.

Physical and Visual Activities/Demands:

  • Standing, walking, bending, reaching, reading, writing and talking.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to continuously lift, reach, stand, and walk throughout the day.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good manual dexterity and agility.
  • Good leadership skills.

Experience

  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months set up operator experience
  • 1-year previous production line experience preferred

Machines, Tools, and Equipment

  • Thermoformers and hand-held tools

Environmental Demands:

  • Exposure to heat, toxic fumes, greases, and lubricants.

Skill Levels                                                                                                   

Level I:                                                                                                           

  • Uses and reads calipers.                                                                               
  • Self-starting, willing to learn, does other tasks as required.             
  • Knowledge about basic math and English skills to complete paperwork.    
  • Has good communication skills and is an active team member.                  
  • Maintains a 97% attendance record.                                                
  • Keeps accurate daily box counts.                                                     
  • Runs the specified number of parts on each job.                                          
  • Maintains a good working relationship with inspectors and operators.        
  • Knows and verifies specification requirements of each part.            
  • Maintains a safe, organized, and clean work area.                          
  • Assists in setting up machines as needed.   

 Level II:                                                                                                            

  • Has all of the skills of a Level I Machine Operator.               
  • Sets up a machine with a supervisor.                                                 
  • Practices and encourages quality.                                                      
  • Understands the different types of materials by appearance. Knows how to tell when materials do not meet quality standards.    
  • Solves most forming problems requiring heat adjustments.              
  • Completes new set up accurately.                                                      
  • Works well independently. Responsible for time and productivity.
