This role plays a critical role in aligning technology solutions with business goals, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes, and driving innovation in business systems. The Solution Architect - Radius collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and implement technology solutions that enhance productivity and support strategic objectives.

What you’ll be doing:

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for business systems to align with the business unit’s goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for technological innovation and provide recommendations for improving business processes.

Business Systems Management:

  • Oversee the management, administration, and support of a business unit or division systems, including enterprise resource planning (ERP), manufacturing shop floor systems, and other critical systems unique for division requirements; both off-the-shelf and custom solutions. 
  • Assist the business or division in ensuring that their systems and infrastructure comply with corporate architectural standards and guidelines.  Partner with IT infrastructure, security, and technology teams to achieve this.

  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of division or enterprise-level business systems and applications. 

  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of business systems, proactively monitoring and addressing any issues or outages.

  • Develop and implement system maintenance processes, including regular updates, patches, and upgrades, in collaboration with the IT team and vendors.

  • Manage system standards : configurations, security settings, and user access controls to ensure data integrity and compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations.  Hold IT personnel accountable for ensuring compliance to these standards.

  • Proactively utilizes, and enforces utilization of, request/incident tracking, change management, and project portfolio management utilizing ITSM best practices.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into effective technology solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with business units to prioritize and deliver IT projects, requests, incidents that exceed their needs.

  • Generate regular reports and updates for senior management, highlighting the status of IT projects, system performance, and budget utilization.

Vendor Management and Relationship Building:

  • Manage relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and consultants.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and deliverables.

  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues, implement system updates, and optimize system performance.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to business systems and recommend relevant solutions to the organization.

Project Management and Collaboration:

  • Lead cross-functional projects involving business system implementations, upgrades, or process improvements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to best practices, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.

  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management, and propose mitigation strategies.

  • Expert Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of the application development tools used to build and implement information systems.

  • Advanced skills practice of structured analysis, design, and programming techniques, and the use of structured development methodologies.

  • Ability to plan programs, manage multiple projects simultaneously, deliver to expectations, and to review plans created by subordinates for thoroughness accuracy, and reasonability, and to control/direct the activities of subordinate staff.

  • Vendor management and negotiation skills.

  • Significant experience (15+ years) with manufacturing and business systems

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or technical field.  An advanced technical degree, MBA, PMP certification is highly recommended.

  • Proven experience in managing and supporting business systems.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying and resolving complex system issues.

  • Solid understanding of business processes, workflows, and system integration principles.

  • Program and Project management expertise, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, on-time and on-budget.
