Provides direct line supervision of an assigned group of professional clinical staff and oversight of clerical staff. Delegate responsibilities as appropriate, providing administrative and clinical direction
Provides clinical supervision for provisionally licensed staff, meeting both requirements of the Department and KY Certification and Licensure Board
Creates processes to anticipate and address specific admission situations within the department, including observation, alternate level of care, long stay patients, post-acute resource referral lists,re-admissions, denials, and termination of benefits. Identify improvement opportunities within the department and at the hospital level and create and implement measurable strategies to address them
Maintains and promotes effective working relationships with medical staff and faculty (both internally and externally). Direct a collaborative relationship with medical staff, residents and students that supports the hospital’s objectives and develops structures that support “best practice” processes and facilitates participation and engagement by physicians, pharmacists, nurses, social workers and other health professionals in multidisciplinary care planning, care delivery, utilization review for effective admission planning
Hires and maintains appropriate staffing ratios consistent with the needs of the organization and within budgetary parameters, as well as participate in the development and administration of the budget for the department
Works closely with Marketing department surrounding all aspects of care provided at Frazier Rehab Institute and UMC.
Provides orientation and ongoing education to staff. Sets measurable performance targets and expectations for care coordination team
Collaborates with financial, payer contracting and access services to support acceptable business practices for billing, collection, patient access and denials management along with establishing a similar message to individual payers regarding specific conditions of participation
Education:
MSN, MSW or Master’s degree in a healthcare field (required)
Kentucky RN license (associate or bachelor’s Degree) or other licensed clinical professional for example PT, PTA, OT, SLP, MSW.(preferred)
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of related experience. At least three (3) of the years of related experience must be in a hospital setting marketing or admissions related role (required)
Experience directing a census/case/utilization management program in a complex matrix organization (required)
