SUMMARY:  The Network Senior Engineer is responsible for engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities associated with areas within the telecommunications function (e.g., network design, engineering, implementation, diagnostics, or operations/user support).  This position will monitor the operation of telecom network systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Responsible for engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities associated with areas within the telecommunications function (e.g., network design, engineering, implementation, diagnostics, or operations/user support).
• Monitor the operation of telecom network systems.
• Perform complex tasks relating to telecom network operations, installation, and/or maintenance for local, off-site and/or remote locations.
• The scope of responsibility for this position includes, but is not limited to, the configuration, deployment, testing, and maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of telecommunications network components to provide a secure, high performance network.
• Test transmission mediums and infrastructure components.
• Serve as technical specialist/lead on a functional basis, for the resolution of complex network problems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will not have supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field AND 5+ years of IT experience in telecommunications and multi-platform environments
