Position Summary and Purpose
This position will function in a fast paced medical setting, specializing in one or more areas of medical care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism and excellent communication skills to foster and contribute to a collegial environment, with the primary focus of providing outstanding care to our patients and their families
 

Essential Functions:
•    Facilitates an exceptional patient care experience by ensuring and assisting patient flow within the office, attending to needs of patients, their families and medical staff
•    Prepares patient for physician visit: obtains and documents appropriate vital signs and health history information in Electronic Health Record (Allscripts)  
•    Clinical duties may include:  Checks vital signs, Give injections (including immunizations), Medication administration, breathing treatments, dressings, vision/hearing testing, suture removal, patient education and assisting physician with procedures, Distributes/educates regarding home spacers and nebulizers
•    Documents, records, and reports necessary patient information
•    Laboratory testing may include: Specimen collection (including finger sticks/venipuncture), documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting and telephone and walk-in triage

Other Functions:
•    Assist patients with any paperwork necessary for the visit 
•    Assists with follow up calls to families regarding visits/procedures
•    Checks and maintains Crash Cart chart
•    Provides excellent, clear documentation in every area of the office.  All documentation is done in the Electronic Health Record, either by entry or by scanning documents
•    Works closely with physicians to ensure patient and family needs are met in an expeditious manner
•    Performing laboratory tests
•    Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct 
•    Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times
•    Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
(Education, Experience, Licensure and Certification)

Education:
•    Graduate of an accredited RN program (required)
Experience: 
•    Minimum of two years’ clinical experience (required)
•    Experience in a physician’s office or hospital setting
Licensure:
•    Active Kentucky Registered Nurse License or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky (required)

Certifications:
•    Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
