Portland Community College’s Arts, Humanities, Communication and Design pathway seeks a full-time Instructional Administrative Assistant II (IAA-2) to support Arts and Design. In addition to strong administrative skills, the successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative, and the ability to collaborate across departments and pathways, contributing to a supportive, team-oriented culture that prioritizes exceptional service to PCC students, partners, and internal stakeholders.The Arts, Humanities, Communication and Design Pathway serves students, faculty, industry partners, and community members. AHCD offers a variety of programs, activities, and services in lower division collegiate and career technical education fields and is an integral part of the educational mission of PCC.
Reporting directly to the Arts and Design Program Dean, the Instructional Administrative Assistant II provides an exciting opportunity for a collaborative, inclusive, and enthusiastic candidate to support the daily operations of Architectural Drafting and Design/Building Inspection, Art, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Multimedia, Music and Sonic Arts, Music, and Theatre Arts for the collective teams in the Art, Humanities, Communication and Design Pathway.

The position requires the ability to think and plan strategically, balance multiple priorities, and accomplish goals that further the department's mission and vision of creating a college climate that demonstrates PCC’s commitment to civil rights, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Key responsibilities may include developing and reviewing the academic schedule; purchasing supplies and equipment via purchasing card and requisitions; initiating and supporting the hiring of staff and faculty; coordinating art model services; monitoring budgets and staffing through reports; overseeing the open lab schedule; and providing day-to-day operational support, including basic technology troubleshooting, facilities coordination, room reservations, workspace upkeep, and reporting safety or maintenance concerns. The role also supports faculty and staff by addressing or facilitating payroll and HR-related needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
· High school diploma or equivalent and three years of administrative support experience or one year in a position equivalent to IAA I.
· College or business school training may be substituted for up to two years of the administrative experience requirement.
· Other equivalent combinations of experience and training will be considered.
