The base pay range for this position is

$36.00-$53.93 Hourly

however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Position Overview:

A Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing mammograms and providing high-quality imaging services to patients in a healthcare setting. The role involves operating mammography equipment, positioning patients for imaging exams, ensuring patient safety and comfort, collaborating with radiologists to interpret results, maintaining accurate patient records, and adhering to safety protocols and regulations.

A Day in the Life:

  • Perform mammography exams on patients following established protocols and procedures.
  • Position and instruct patients for imaging exams to achieve optimal results.
  • Operate mammography equipment effectively to capture clear and accurate images of breast tissue.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations related to radiation exposure.
  • Stay current on advancements in mammography technology through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Provide education and support to patients undergoing mammography exams.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

About You!

This Job is For You if You Have:

  • Certification by the American Registry or Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in radiography, or equivalent.  Qualified under current MQSA standards to independently practice mammography. 
  • Specialty certification by the ARRT in Mammography and/or Quality Management is desirable.
  • Possesses a valid Washington State License in Radiologic Technology.
  • Must have one or more years’ experience in Radiography.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot mammography equipment effectively, ensuring high-quality imaging results.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in image capture and analysis.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills for interpreting images and identifying abnormalities.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and infection control measures.
  • Time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and handle multiple patients efficiently.
