Pay Range:
The base pay range for this position is
$20.80-$37.45 Hourly
however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Job Title: Patient Account Representative – Front Desk
Work Schedule for this Position: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Position Overview:
The Patient Account Representative is responsible for providing high-quality customer service to patients and supporting the billing and revenue cycle functions of the healthcare facility. This position primarily handles self-pay work queues, assists with patient billing inquiries through various channels (in-person, phone, email, and online), and performs daily operational tasks such as bank deposits, mail runs, and correspondence management. This position may also assist with maintaining petty cash and supporting small projects as needed to ensure smooth financial operations.
A Day in the Life:
- Monitor and manage the self-pay work queue to ensure timely follow-up and resolution of outstanding patient balances.
- Provide assistance to patients regarding billing concerns and payment inquiries through various communication methods (in-person, phone, email, and online).
- Accurately prepare and complete daily bank deposits in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Perform daily mail runs, ensuring timely delivery of outgoing mail and proper handling of incoming correspondence.
- Scan and forward received correspondence to the appropriate billing analysts for further action and resolution.
- Responsible for tracking and managing petty cash funds, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal policies.
- Provide assistance with small projects or special assignments as needed to support the overall goals of the Patient Financial Services (PFS) department.
About You!
This Job is For You if You Have:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to handle patient inquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and relevant billing software.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to prepare basic correspondence and simple reports in Microsoft Word.
- Ability to create, send and manage email in Outlook.
- Ability to use messaging and locate chart information in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel to create tables and simple displays of information.
- Fully functional in the use of the EMR program.
- Possesses a basic level of written and verbal communications skills, computational and computer skills, and mathematical knowledge typically acquired through completion of a high school program.
- Strong customer service skills.
A Wow if You Have:
- Experience in healthcare billing or customer service roles.
- Familiarity with EPIC or other revenue cycle services.
