The base pay range for this position is

$40.80-$62.59 Hourly

however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Work Schedule for this Position: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm; on-call every other weekend, variable call during the week

Position Overview:

A Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive materials to assess organ function and diagnose diseases. They operate specialized imaging equipment, administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients, and collaborate with radiologists and physicians to interpret imaging results. Nuclear Medicine Technologists must adhere to strict safety protocols to protect patients, themselves, and others from radiation exposure. They also maintain accurate patient records and stay current on advancements in nuclear medicine technology through continuing education.

A Day in the Life:

  • Performing diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive materials.
  • Administering radiopharmaceuticals to patients.
  • Operating specialized imaging equipment such as gamma cameras, PET scanners, and SPECT scanners.
  • Ensuring patient safety by following strict radiation safety protocols.
  • Collaborating with healthcare providers to provide accurate diagnostic information.
  • Providing patient care, including communicating with patients and ensuring their comfort during procedures.
  • Maintaining imaging equipment and supplies.
  • Adhering to quality control standards to ensure accurate and reliable results.

About You!

This Job is For You if You Have:

  • Current Washington State License as a Radiologic Technologist Certification.
  • Must be Nuclear Medicine registered through ARRT.
  • One or more years’ experience in Radiography, preferably in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Clinical skills for conducting examinations and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills with patients and healthcare team.
  • Demonstrating empathy and compassion towards patients.
  • Critical thinking for evaluating patient needs and developing treatment plans.
  • Attention to detail in documenting patient information accurately.
  • Ability to work effectively in a healthcare team.
  • Efficient time management for prioritizing tasks and appointments.
  • Adaptability to changing patient needs and healthcare protocols.
  • Cultural competence in understanding diverse patient populations.
  • Adherence to ethical and legal standards in patient care.
  • Commitment to continuous education and professional growth.
  • Patient education skills for explaining medical information clearly and promoting self-care.
