Job Title: Surgical Services Aide

Work Schedule for this Position: Monday-Friday 1pm-9:30pm

Position Overview:

Assist the operating staff with cleaning and preparation of the surgical suite. Maintain knowledge about the flow of operations, anticipating staffing and needs. Set up and break down of surgical suites. Evening aids finishes day with total clean of depart and suites.

A Day in the Life:

• Planning and Prioritizing daily activities needed to support surgical services.
• Communicate with the various department RN’s to evaluate their needs for the day.
• Ordering and usage of supplies and linen used within the department, report equipment to maintenance for repairs.
• Communicate with department leadership and staff on where assistance is needed.
• Demonstrate the ability to perform the required skills for the Surgical Services Aide.
• Demonstrate the knowledge and skill required to total clean the O.R. suite.
• Basic computer skill to print schedule read and distribute e-mails. Complete and maintain daily check list.
• Assist in transportation of patients to and from the surgical suites as directed and in accordance with knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Maintain appropriate stock of surgical scrubs, caps, and foot covers in the staff locker rooms.
• Teach and demonstrate to others the surgical aid duties.
