Position Start Date: January 7, 2026

 

Required Degree:  MS degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.

The required degree must be completed by the start date. 

 

Experience:  3+ years working in a manufacturing or related field, preferably in manufacturing systems or lean manufacturing.

 

Duties/Expectations: 

Teach MFGEN 532  - Manufacturing Systems

  • Instruct students in person during designated class times
  • Provide office consultations and student mentoring
  • Mentor student teams on a semester-long project with a local company, helping them gain confidence applying course principles in a production environment.
  • Prepare course materials (lectures/homework/projects)
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on student work in a timely manner
  • Write and administer exams.

Adjunct faculty do not attend faculty meetings and are not required to participate in research or citizenship responsibilities.

Course Description:  Analyzing lean manufacturing systems. Numerous examples and case studies from industry demonstrating principles of lean production, inventory management, and lean distribution. Project where a small team of students is paired with a local company to gain confidence with these principles in an industrial setting. Prerequisite: MFGEN 480 or instructor's consent. (3 credit course. This course has in-person instruction. Lecture hours 2; Lab hours 2)
