Required Degree: Bachelor's in History Education, Social Science Education, or equivalent
The required degree must be completed by the start date.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience with secondary students
Current employment within Alpine, Jordan, Nebo, Provo, or Wasatch School Districts
Capacity for teaching and mentoring preservice teachers
Duties/Expectations:
The History Department is seeking two clinical faculty associates (CFAs) to start in the 2026-2027 school year. The CFA is typically a two-year position. CFAs supervise practicum students, student teachers, and teaching interns in Jordan, Wasatch, Alpine, Provo, and Nebo school districts. CFAs teach pedagogy courses offered within the History Department. CFAs remain an employee on special assignment of the school district where they have been teaching and receive their normal salary from the school district. They return to a teaching position in their school district after their time as a CFA is completed.
The CFAs will be expected to teach and supervise the following history/social studies education courses
History 276: explorations of teaching history and social studies
History 476: student teaching in history and social studies
History 496: teaching internship in history and social studies
