Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Medical Assistant.
Position Status: Part Time - 16 hours / week
Position Location: Sentara Louise Obici Hospital - Suffolk, VA
Standard Working Hours: 7 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday
Overview
The Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative and clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Must acquire one of the following certifications within nine (9) months of hire: Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Clinical Certified Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician Basic.
Education
Highschool grad or equivalent
Certification/Licensure
BLS (Required within 90 days)
Experience
1 year of relevant clinical experience (required)
Experience with blood draws and vaccines (preferred)
Experience with Respiratory Fit testing (preferred)
