Position Status: Full-time, permanent (40 hours/week)
Standard Working Hours: Must be able to work between the hours of 8:00AM to 4:30PM
Position Location: This is a remote position and you must be located near Sentara Independence in Virginia Beach, VA. You must be able to travel on-site for training, for connectivity issues, or as needed for meetings, etc.
Job responsibilities:
Provides a direct link between patients, primary care providers, specialty providers, and insurance companies.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
Certification/Licensure:
No specific certification or licensure requirements
Experience:
Health Insurance Plans experience REQUIRED
Experience in a high volume call center preferred
Medical terminology preferred.
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third party payers.
One year of experience with insurance verification/referral processing preferred.
Knowledge of EPIC preferred.
Proficient in use of computers and excellent organizational skills.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$17.31 - $28.85. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.Sentara Independence provides quality outpatient services to the surrounding community. The facility includes an ambulance-accessible emergency room that is supported by board-certified physicians. Sentara Independence houses state-of-the-art medical equipment and highly-skilled physicians and staff. Sentara Independence is now an extension of the quality services at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital including advanced imaging and physical therapy.
