Job Details:
Job Summary: The REMOTE Workday Integration Lead is responsible for the architecture, integration, and ongoing optimization of Mattress Firm's HR systems, including Workday, Varicent, and other platforms. This role ensures accurate and efficient system configuration and maintenance to support core HR processes. The ideal candidate brings advanced technical expertise, a strong understanding of data models and calculations, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. This position plays a key role in enabling seamless data flow and system performance across the HR technology ecosystem.
Essential Responsibilities
Serve as the primary technical expert, leading system architecture, data modeling, and process design.
Lead integration strategies involving Workday Studio, EIBs, Workday Extend, Web Services, and Varicent Connect tools.
Design and implement robust APIs, middleware, and ETL solutions for data synchronization.
Guide technical teams and vendors in solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
Configure and maintain compensation plans, rules, and workflows within the Varicent platform.
Analyze and understand the data models and calculations that feed into Varicent to ensure accuracy and integrity.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document business and technical requirements.
Identify and resolve data-related issues, ensuring end-to-end understanding of data flows into Varicent.
Create and maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and data mappings.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the systems.
Ensure real-time or scheduled data feeds align with business logic and compliance needs.
Communicate progress and risks clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
Mentor junior team members and support their technical growth.
Partner with the business to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Monitor system performance and ensure data accuracy across both platforms.
Develop governance standards for system access, data quality, and change management.
Continuously identify opportunities for automation and system enhancements.
Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date.
Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all.
Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts.
Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation.
Communicate any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and company operations.

Education
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Professional Experience
5+ Years Enterprise application development and system integration required
Proven experience integrating Workday with third-party platforms and internal systems required
Experience with Query Based Languages and Relational Databases required
Practical hands-on experience with the following languages and front-end technologies: SQL, MS Access / Excel, Python and JavaScript required
Experience with cloud-based integration tools (e.g., Boomi, MuleSoft, SnapLogic) preferred
Familiarity with Workday Extend and Workday Prism Analytics preferred
Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) preferred

Deep knowledge of Workday HCM, including Workday Studio, Workday Report Writer, and EIBs
Understanding crediting, processing, and payout logic
Knowledge of RESTful APIs for integration with CRMs (e.g., Salesforce), ERPs, and other systems
Strong understanding of data governance, security protocols, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, SOX)
Understanding of data structures, compensation models, and calculation logic
Licenses and Certifications
Certifications in Workday or Varicent preferred

Compensation:
Competitive $145,000 - $155,000 * depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.*Pay amount does not guarantee employment for any particular time.
