Under general direction, works on the fabrication, installation, operation, application, maintenance, and repair of mechanical machines, equipment, and tools. Inspects that all equipment is in accordance with the quality and safety standards. Has thorough technical knowledge of all phases of the activity. Provides guidance to personnel with less knowledge in solving complex problems. Role typically requires between 5 and 8 years of experience.

The selected candidate will be working in the Product Engineering / Design group and will have 5-10 years’ experience. The position will provide opportunities for product design and testing starting with the concept development phase following through product validation, to final product implementation including production lifecycle support. Along with analytical challenges, the job will provide full system exposure to shop practices such as layout, bending, welding, cutting, fit up, weld out, painting, hydraulic plumbing, electrical system installation, air system installation will be some of the areas of discovery.  Other requirements / expectations for candidate to be selected include:

Requirements/Expectations:

• Qualified candidates must hold an Engineering degree with an emphasis on mechanical design, strength of materials, material science, and structural analysis.
• The selected engineer will have a high level of self-initiative, with an ability to plan, manage tasks, conceptualize, and implement ideas with minimal supervision.
• The candidate must be willing to travel as required, possibly 10-14 days per year.
• The candidate must work well as a member of a team and adapt well to a changing environment. A positive, can-do attitude is required.
• Working knowledge of 3-D CAD modeling software, preferably Siemens NX (Training will be given as necessary).
• Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Project, Access, PowerPoint, etc...).
• Demonstrated analytic and empirical problem-solving skills.
• FEA experience will be a plus.
• Hydraulic systems knowledge will be a plus.
• Must have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be able to interface with Team Members (Sales, Production Personnel, Suppliers, etc…) on projects as required.
• Represent the Design Engineering Team with professionalism and integrity when communicating with our customers, cross functional teams, as well as the entire organization.
• Research, develop, design, and test mechanical parts, components, and assemblies needed for prototypes and final products. Maintain current products with respect to Voice of Customer, vendor change requests and assembly line change requests. Assist in developing jigs/fixtures for use in Production.
• Assist in all functions required to generate Bills of Materials and process ECR’s /ECN’s for product requirements.
• Focus on developing and implementing cost saving ideas including research, selection and validation of outsourced products.
• Assist in warranty analysis to improve existing products by analyzing and finding root cause and designing solutions to address field issues.

Pay Range: $100k - $130K based on experience.

This is an onsite position - Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
