Now Hiring: Swiss Machine Operator
Location: Alexandria, MN
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Targeted Compensation Range: $27.00 to $32.00/hr
We’re looking for a Swiss Machine Operator who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and play a key role in our production process. If you enjoy working with your hands, take pride in precision, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is the opportunity for you!
What You’ll Be Doing
- Set up and operate Swiss CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering specifications and production schedules.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to understand part geometry and machining requirements.
- Perform machine adjustments, tooling changes, and offsets to maintain part quality and machine efficiency.
- Monitor production runs to ensure parts meet quality standards and production goals.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Maintain equipment and a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues such as tool wear or dimensional errors.
- Document production and quality data in accordance with company procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers, quality inspectors, and other operators to ensure smooth workflow and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus
- Minimum of 2-3 years operating, programming and setting up Swiss CNC lathes
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds and speeds.
- Blueprint reading & GD&T familiarity is a plus.
- Ability to perform machine setups, change tooling, make offsets and troubleshoot issues to maintain production quality and efficiency.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments (caliper, micrometers, etc.) to inspect parts and ensure they meet tight tolerances.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in both set up and inspection processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with team members.
- A focus on safety and maintaining a safe work environment.
