How do we work?

In the Trading Team, we collaborate to manage OANDA's trading platform market-making and hedging engines, ensuring continuous liquidity and optimal pricing for our clients.

In this role, you will:

• Manage OANDA's trading platform's market-making and hedging engine; supervise hedging of market maker positions.

• Oversee pricing and swap fee creation.

• Manage Net Open Position (NOP) levels at Prime Brokers.

• Research, gather market intelligence, and analyze/communicate market information to stakeholders.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory and trading limits during execution.

• Actively manage Client portfolio and ensure excellent service.

• Stay updated on market and industry trends.

• Collaborate with internal teams to analyze customer activity, conduct post-trade analysis, and support risk management.

• Build and mantain relationships with brokers, key Clients, and other trading division stakeholders.

• Support the growth of junior team members and serve as a market expert for the trading desk and organization.

• Act as the key point of contact for LPs to ensure continuous liquidity access; monitor spread behavior during market events and lead monthly reporting cycles to optimize pricing competitiveness.

What skillset do you need to be successful in this role? 

• Master's degree or higher in Quantitative/Mathematical Finance, Financial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar.

• 3+ years of experience in a trading environment, or in an environment where complex analysis-based tasks are performed to determine business outcomes.

• Experience of trading technology and how to leverage it.

• Experience working with an electronic trading system with responsibilities for risk management globally across diverse asset classes.

• Familiarity with programming in Python and querying databases using SQL.

• Working knowledge of AI concepts and practical application of AI agents.
