About the Role
As a Community Maintenance Technician at Zekelman Industries, Casa Grande FLATZ 387, you will play a key role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of the apartment community. This role is essential in ensuring resident satisfaction by addressing service requests, performing preventive maintenance, and keeping building systems operating efficiently. It’s a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys problem-solving, and thrives in a hands-on, service-driven environment.

What You’ll Do

• Assists in completing make-ready units according to Z Modular standards.

• Troubleshoots and repairs HVAC systems, appliances, plumbing, and electrical systems.

• Performs minor carpentry, drywall repair, and painting.

• Responds promptly to resident service and maintenance requests.

• Re-keys locks and cuts keys as needed.

• Conducts regular inspections and preventive maintenance of property equipment and vacant units.

• Maintains pool areas, ensuring proper chemical balance and safety.

• Identifies and addresses safety hazards throughout the property.

• Maintains cleanliness of common areas, sidewalks, and amenities.

• Removes trash and debris from grounds and power washes surfaces periodically.

• Ensures landscaping is presentable by raking rocks and removing weeds.

• Assists in monitoring inventory of tools, supplies, and materials.

• Maintains accurate documentation of service requests, maintenance activities, make-ready progress, and material usage.

• Participates in the community’s on-call maintenance rotation.

• Responds to emergency maintenance needs outside normal business hours as needed.

• Provides courteous and professional interactions with residents and team members.

• Collaborates with property management to ensure resident satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Who You Are

• 2–5 years of experience in general maintenance, preferably in residential or property management.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Vocational training or certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical.

• Certifications (Preferred or Required within 90 Days):

  • EPA Type II or Universal HVAC Certification

  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO)

  • OSHA Safety Training

• General knowledge in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, pool maintenance, appliance repair, and OSHA-related standards.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Proficient with basic computer and mobile applications used in work order tracking.

• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

• Service-oriented with a positive attitude.

• Professional communication and customer service skills.

• Team player with a collaborative mindset.

• Eligible to work in the United States.

Physical Abilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.

• Frequently lifts, carries, pushes, or pulls items up to 50 lbs.

• Physically able to perform repetitive tasks and operate equipment in various indoor and outdoor environments.

• Good visual acuity for reading screens and documents.
