GENERAL DUTIES

Compliance Oversight

·Management and oversight of compliance data, including quality review, reporting, and preparation/ participation in quarterly compliance committee

·Oversight of technology-based compliance controls, as assigned by leadership

·Other duties as assigned by Compliance leadership

Compliance policy and procedure development and management:

  • Assists the leadership with assessment of compliance policy gaps by soliciting input from department leaders.
  • Conduct independent research and analysis of various compliance and regulatory issues, including tracking, monitoring and assessing new privacy regulations, laws, and industry best practices.
  • Participates in the compliance planning process and assists with the development of an annual compliance plan.

Compliance Education and Training:

  • Assists the leadership with creation of education and training modules.
  • Conducts education and training sessions.
  • Tracks attendance and attendee feedback and solicits information on training needs from department leaders at each facility.

Compliance Investigations:

  • Investigates HIPAA privacy and data security incidents and compliance reports.
  • Documents and reports findings to the leadership and develops and recommends corrective action plans as directed by the leadership.

Compliance Auditing and Monitoring:

  • Audits and monitors clinical documentation and revenue cycle processes for compliance with federal and state laws, rules and regulations. Ensure execution of corrective action when errors are identified.
  • Works with the leadership to develop compliance auditing and monitoring programs. Assists with the maintenance and improvement of the auditing and monitoring plan
  • Conducts research on applicable regulations and conducts auditing and monitoring reviews.
  • Documents and reports findings to the leadership and develops and recommends corrective action plans as directed by the leadership.

Compliance Risk Assessment:

  • Provides assistance with the creation of a compliance risk assessment tool. Works with various department leaders to identify and prioritize compliance risk areas and enter information into risk assessment tool.
  • Oversees the work of junior team members to identify, assess and compile compliance and privacy risk areas as determined by compliance authorities.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

2 years experience in health care, compliance, or related field required. Advanced degree in related field, e.g., JD. MPH, MPA, etc. may be considered in lieu of experience.. Experience in healthcare compliance or health law preferred.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
