The Investment Banking Division is looking for an Executive Director of Client Engagement & Insights to drive the development of thematic content as well as create and translate Morgan Stanley’s intellectual capital into compelling and easily consumable content that deepens client engagement. This newly created team sits at the intersection of Investment Banking and Global Capital Markets, with the objective of enhancing the frequency and depth of engagement with senior executives and boards to increase market share and enable broader client coverage. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and experienced creator, passionate about uncovering market trends to turn them into actionable insights. The role requires a unique blend of financial journalism, event production capabilities and client-facing skills to create content across mediums that can be effectively deployed to C-suite audiences.

You will: (key responsibilities)

Theme Development and Content Creation 

  • Establish a structured process for identifying themes in collaboration with senior business unit stakeholders
  • Transform themes into compelling, multi-format content, including written, video, podcast, and conference materials

Content Production & Editorial Management 

  • Adapt written themes into additional formats and oversee production and speaker preparation
  • Write and edit flagship content packages for bankers, including email templates and presentation decks
  • Ghostwrite or refine executive-authored pieces to ensure strategic alignment

Speaker Preparation and Event Management 

  • Drive industry conferences by shaping thematic agendas, securing and preparing speakers, and developing comprehensive briefing materials
  • Plan and execute proprietary events, including round tables and webinars, in partnership with coverage teams
  • Collaborate with Marketing to ensure brand consistency and cohesive messaging across all channels

Measurement and Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor emerging trends, client interests, and market dynamics to maintain relevance and thought leadership
  • Conduct post-event reviews to capture insights and lessons learned
  • Refine content delivery strategies based on feedback and performance metrics

You have: (must-have skills and qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree and significant experience (10+ years) in journalism, media, or content creation, with a focus on Investment Banking and Capital Markets
  • Deep subject matter expertise on macro themes, emerging trends, and market shaping influences
  • Experience supporting multi-format content initiatives (written, audio, video)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and scale high-performing teams
  • Exceptionally strong relationship management skills and experience working with senior executives and stakeholders cross-functionally and in global markets
  • Proactive, motivated, and collaborative leader with outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $200,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment.  However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
